Paximádi Koulouritza, the typical Cretan dry bread for für Dakos

Paximádi is a special Cretan bread which is the basis for the Cretan 'Dakos' and in the English language called 'Barley Rusks'.

The bread consists mainly of wholesome barley flour and is baked 2 times. The taste of Paximádi is not sweet so that you can use it as side dish together with spicy food.

For Cretan 'Dakos' the Paximádi is lightly wetted with water and served with tomatoe, onion, feta, olive oil and spices.
